It has become more popular as of late to adopt the Korean way of skin care and for good reason!! They are ahead of the game in cosmetics and skin health, and I have jumped on the bandwagon with a big smile on my face because this sh** is awesome!
As seen before in my other posts, my love for Korean cosmetics has really changed me! I feel as though my face looks and feels the healthiest it has ever been. Um yeah that’s because IT IS.
*que epic introduction music
Notorious for their “poreless” complexions and flawless application, Korean’s have always focused on the over all health, and not just the “covering up”, aspects of true skin care! If you are going to spend an hour on your face applying make-up, you need to spend as much time or care in nurturing your face and repairing the damage you get from sun exposure, caked on make-up, and other environmental factors. That being said The Koreans got it figured out. But no need to buy a one way to Korea just yet… actually that’d be a fantastic idea. Someone do it and write me about the trip!! Seriously.
Okay back to what I was raving about. In case you’re not ready to fly your butt to Korea to go on an epic solo cosmetic adventure, I have compiled a list of the best Korean skin care products (in my opinion) for you to check out and see for yourself the magic that is Korean skin care products. Be sure to check out my new post coming soon Multi-step Korean skin routine!

This adorable little face cream will instantly brighten your complexion, hyrdrate skin, and leave you with glowing skin! I use this before bed and in the morning after washing my face.
A little goes a long way! A pea size amount will suffice! Look at his round little face… just look at it.
One of Missha’s top selling products it contains 80% yeast concentrate which instantly absorbs into skin, leaving it energized! If you’re a woman the mention of yeast probably brings with it unpleasant feelings and makes you automatically want to reject this idea. But trust me- you want this yeast. With Vitamin B3, this miracle water will tone uneven skin and improve elasticity. It also helps fine lines diminish. I use this all over my face and put a little extra on my smile lines since I have a big smile. Add vitality to aging or damaged skin with one of my favorite products.
I used to use this before photo shoots to minimize my pores and let me tell you, it REALLY works! I have always been conscious of how big my pores look but with this formula I don’t have to worry about them being obvious! Use a small amount on face before makeup and moisturizer.
Another mask!! Yes, I know, I am a face mask fanatic. That does not mean that this mask hasn’t EARNED my love. Say goodbye to those dead skin cells and buildup that you have has been holding onto. My face always feels so clean and smooth after. Funny enough I don’t take selfies very often, but most of them end up with some kind of mask contents spread all over my face. It’s so attractive, right? Use once a week as needed!
So before I was introduced to the Skinfood Egg White Mask I would, no joke, crack some eggs, seperate the egg whites and make a home made mask for my face. It acted as a mini face lift. Egg whites have astringent properties and shrink pores while tightening the skin. It is also packed Vitamin B3, selenium, magnesium, calcium, phosphorus, potassium, and great amino acids. This was my go to “pre-party” masks, but using real eggs got kinda messy and took too much time. Now that I found a product that eliminates the hard part for me while still delivering the results I want. Mini face-lift here I come!
Peaches contain so many vitamins and minerals that are great for your face. They are rich in vitamin A and vitamin C that help reduce the damage of free radicals and help prevent premature aging. They contain naturally occurring acids that help treat acne and acne scars and have pectin, a type of fiber, that will help tone and firm skin. Sake (I love sake) is a wine made from rice that has its own benefits. The geishas of traditional japan used to take baths with sake for softer, brighter skin. The yeast used in the fermentation process contain peptides (which are an amino acids chain) that play a huge role in the collagen production. Told ya the yeast was good for ya! After cleansing apply with a cotton ball, wait for it to dry and let me magic happen!
So this is one that I came across by accident! I went to buy something completely different but in a rush grabbed this little gem and fell in love. I feel like I say I’m in love with every product…but I REALLY love this for an exfoliant! It has two sides to it, one for a deeper exfoliant and one is softer that you can use if you just need a quick pick me up. The main ingredient is resveratrol which is a powerhouse antioxidant found in red wine(its even thought to help limit the spread of cancer cells) and helps skin with its anti aging properties. I use the textured side in colder months or when my face needs extra exfoliation, and the softer side to trace my face with after. Use two or three times a week depending on your needs.
